The title of my picture book is Three Little Pigs published by Random House Inc. in 1972. It’s retold by Barbara Brenner who also wrote Wagon Wheels, One Small Place by the Sea and One Small Place in a Tree. She has written over 76 books for children and young adults. Three Little Pigs is illustrated by The Walt Disney Company.
I chose this picture book because this is the story that I would read all the time as a little kid. When my parents bought this book, they would read it to me as a bedtime story. At school this is a popular story for teachers to read to us, and when I was small I even brought this book for show and tell since Three Little Pigs is one of my favourite books. The moral of this story affected me ever since and even today I understand more profoundly about what the book tells us. In these days of financial crisis because people are being too greedy in thinking they can always use their wisdom to get $100 return for ever dollar they put in, and also spending money in advance. People should read and learn from this little kid’s book that if you want to accomplish something, you have to be serious and decent. Life has no short-cuts; the more effort you put into it, the more you will get in return.
